Our Owner of the Month award winner for July is Robert Warnock part owner of three winners during the month with Left Turn Clyde; Rubini and Bellavardo. Robert shared these remarks with us: Horse racing has been a passion for most of my life, especially when as a lad collecting thrown away betting tickets, hoping to make my fortune. Currently with my wife, we have shares in a few horses with Gordon Richards and Damien Moyle and with Stuart Gower. My first notable winner was Dubawi Gold with Stuart Gower. I have been very fortunate to go on a horse racing journey of a lifetime with Gordon Richards and Damien Moyle being a part owner of Gytrash, Group 1 winner and Everest runner in 2020 & 2021. Horse racing to me is not just about the winning but the people you meet and form lasting friendships with and the trips to the country and interstate. Looking at each of Robert’s winners last month – firstly Left Turn Clyde who is by Akeed Mofeed from the Written Tycoon mare Written Birch. The four year old has now won twice from nine starts and accumulated $55,225 in prizemoney with $17,100 of that coming in Racing Rewards bonuses. He is trained by Stuart Gower who also bred him from Written Birch who was herself a handy race mare winning 6 times and earning over $90,000 for the stable. Left Turn Clyde is so far her only progeny to reach the racetrack. The granddam Miss Oak Park (by Fasliyev) raced thirteen times for 5 placings with Written Birch being easily the best of her progeny. The third dam Cannes Resort (by Scenic) was a handy race mare. Bellavardo was bred in New Zealand and is by Belardo out of Vitrum (by Van Nisselroy). She is a staying type and has won three times with ten minor placings and currently has earnt almost $90,000 from her 26 starts. The dam Vitrum has travelled back and forth across the Tasman with Bellavardo being her best progeny so far. The Grand dam is Georgiana (by Nassipour) who has produced one stakes winner in Filante Etiole (by Soviet Star) who won the listed QTC Metropolitan. Bellavardo is trained by Gordon Richards and Damien Moyle as it Rubini, Robert’s third winner for the month. As the name suggests Rubini is by Rubick out if the Bernadini mare Bulladini. He has won one race from ten starts with earnings of nearly $40,000 with a healthy $13,850 from Racing Rewards bonuses. His dam Bulladini was unraced and Rubini is her best progeny so far. The grand dam Bulla Borghese (by Belong To Me) won a VRC Oaks and has produced a stakes winner in Bound For Earth (by Northern Meteor) winner of the Group 2 Furious Stakes. She also produced Melpomene (by Elusive Quality) dam of stakes winners Calliope (by Exceed and Excel), also dam of a stakes winner Kallos (by Medaglia D’Oro) and Zethus (also by Exceed and Excel); and Romanus (by Encosta De Lago) winner of over $270,000. The future looks bright for Robert and the horses he is involved with.
