Our Owner of the Month award winner for August is Roslyn Day breeder, owner and trainer of Ace Of Clubs. Roslyn has recently moved her breeding operation Rosden Park from Wellington to Malinong where she currently stands the promising Fastnet Rock sire Dedline.
Ace Of Clubs has enjoyed an outstanding third preparation, beginning the prep as a maiden with a best result a fourth and winnings of $750. This prep has been a different story with a third at Mount Gambier and then a maiden win at Bordertown. Several unplaced runs followed but then he really hit his straps with three wins and four seconds from his last seven starts. His record now stands at four wins, four seconds and a third from 16 starts and he has returned almost $100,000 in stakes earnings, of which $14000 is SABOIS bonuses.
The 5 year old gelding is by Shinzig out of a Muhtathir mare She’s A Pleasure. Shinzig (by Danehill) was a winner of the Group One C.F. Orr stakes and has sired a stakes winner in Psychic Mick from relatively limited opportunities. The dam She’s A Pleasure was born in France. Her other Australian progeny are Varacalli Lad (by Murtajill) who like his half brother has needed time, he is currently a six year-old and has raced on only 5 occasions and Club Queen (by Dedline) who is yet to race.
The granddam is US born Hayhaat (by Irish River) who left no progeny of note.
Late in September Roslyn sold her interest in Ace OF Clubs to Nigel and Helen Atkin but she will continue to train him.
We wish Roslyn continued success with both her breeding operation and her horses.
