Richard advised Gary and Matt about upcoming SAROA events These include The SAJC/TRSA event on Derby Day May 11 to acknowledge the “Support SA Racing Jobs” campaign The SAROA Raceday on July 20th – where SAROA will be holding a Gourmet BBQ lunch and will be looking for sponsors to purchase race names for the day. The SAROA AGM September 14th, which is a free event for members The planned SAROA tour which this year will feature Mill Park Stud and Finniss Lodge Thoroughbreds and will conclude with lunch at the Finniss General Store. More details on these events will be added to the SAROA website in due course. While the letter is quite long we felt it was necessary to give a full picture of the issues involved. Richard talks to Matt about the SAROA education night, where vets Dr Holly Lewis and Dr Peter Horridge gave attendees an overview of their roles as vets involved with horse racing. Holly talked about the types of examinations that vets do to ensure horses are right to race both before and after race days.
