SAROA has registered a set of racing colours for use by the top weight on SAROA race days such as our upcoming raceday on August 20th. The new colours (see below) feature the logo on a white background with striped sleeves and a quartered cap.

SAROA HORSES BIRTHDAY LUNCH – 29 JULY 2016 STALLION NOMINATION AUCTION TERMS AND CONDITIONS General The auction will be conducted by Adrian Hancock on behalf of SAROA. The highest bidder for a stallion nomination will be the successful purchaser. Settlement of the successful bid for a stallion nomination will be within 7 calendar days of the auction, on invoice from SAROA, by either cheque made payable to SAROA, or direct credit to SAROA’s bank account number:- BSB 065-152 Acct 1007 6399. No GST is payable on the purchase of the stallion nomination to Valentia or Trust In A Gust as SAROA is not a GST-registered entity. Bidding may be by agent on behalf of a purchaser, but the agent is liable for purchase in the event of default of the bidder. Bidding may be by attendance at the auction or by telephone during the auction or by sealed bid delivered to SAROA by post not later than 24 hours prior to the auction or delivered personally to the Secretary not later than 30 minutes prior to the commencement of the auction. Email bids sent to secretary@saroa.com.au will be accepted up until 5:00pm on July 28th. Telephone bidders must make arrangements with the SAROA Secretary no less than 24 hours before the auction. Fiorente – Special Purchase Condition Settlement of the winning bid for the Fiorente stallion nomination will be as follows:- payment of 2/3rds of the winning bid to SAROA within 7 calendar days of the auction as set out in the General provisions above and the balance of 1/3rd payable to Sun Stud on presentation of a live foal and on receipt of a GST inclusive Tax Invoice from Sun Stud for the 1/3rd.

SAROA is excited to announce that due to the generosity of Cornerstone and Sun Studs, we will be able to auction services to both Valentia and Fiorente at our upcoming Horses’ Birthday Lunch. The lunch is our main fundraiser for the year and part proceeds from the event will go to the National Jockeys Trust. Valentia is a first season sire by Fastnet Rock and stands at Cornerstone for $11,000. We are excited to welcome recently retired NSW Chief Steward Ray Murrihy as our main speaker, Ray served New South Wales racing with distinction for more than 40 years. We know that Ray will have some fascinating stories to share with us and those who have met Ray will agree, we are sure, that we are indeed lucky to have him join us on July 29th. While from a very different end of the racing spectrum, we are sure that our second speaker will also provide an enthralling view of the transition from struggling to get a ride in her home country Ireland to becoming a leading apprentice here in Adelaide. We are of course referring to Emily Finnegan. So we suggest you add Friday July 29th to your diaries and be prepared for a great lunch to celebrate our horses’ birthdays.
